Winder For Sale

Winders built during the 1980’s were stoutly built with manual controls. This Progressive winder and tension stand was rebuilt in 2013 with modern controls, new bearings, motors, drive, gearbox. Increasing the shaft diameters and replacing the chains with a timing belt offers smooth and quiet operation and increased power, speed and torque. Material is fed to the tension stand, and then a levered guide arm, then feeds to the coil to create a precision pattern on the bobbin’s core.
The existing design minimized footprint mounts controls and hydraulics on the bed, the hydraulics, valve and control panel can be mounted remotely on the plant floor to simplify maintenance.
Provisions are available for a new cantilevered winding platform; using a flange mounted fixture to wind on open cores. Currently, the rotational encoder is mounted on the end of the outboard shaft, as shown at the right. Moving this device will allow mounting a flanged shaft to support an array of winding mandrels.
The new electric control panel, has a Giddings and Lewis controller, a Parker SSD drive and fresh wiring. A Cimrex touch screen creates an intuitive operator station, with memory for 50 winding profiles. On installation, all wiring and controls will be completed to create a neat clean package.
